چکیده
Lymphedema is a significant complication of breast cancer treatment. Early treatment subclinical lymphedema may prevent its related complications. We aimed to evaluate the contribution applying self-lymphatic drainage (SLD) in LE patients. One hundred twenty-eight women diagnosed with were enrolled study. Patients allocated into control group 1 (n=64) and SLD 2 (n=64). Excess volume; Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for pain, stiffness, heaviness, tightness; Quick Disabilities Arm, Shoulder, Hand (QuickDASH) disability; handgrip strength; Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) depression recorded before after therapy. Statistically improvements excess volume observed both groups; however, there was substantial change group. Also, only VAS BDI scores assessed significantly lower than In conclusion, useful reducing volume, sensations tightness, patients LE.

Manual lymphatic drainage for lymphedema following breast cancer treatment.
BACKGROUND More than one in five patients who undergo treatment for breast cancer will develop breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL). BCRL can occur as a result of breast cancer surgery and/or radiation therapy. BCRL can negatively impact comfort, function, and quality of life (QoL). Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), a type of hands-on therapy, is frequently used for BCRL and often as part of ...

BACKGROUND The aim of this prospective controlled study was to assess the efficacy of two different combination treatment modalities of lymphedema (LE). Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) and compression bandage combination (complex decongestive therapy) have been compared with intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) plus self-lymphatic drainage (SLD). METHODS AND RESULTS Both MLD with compress...

This study evaluated the effectiveness of manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) in the prevention of secondary lymphedema after treatment of breast cancer. The study consisted of 67 women, who underwent breast surgery for primary breast cancer. From the second day of surgery, 33 randomly chosen women were given MLD. The control group consisted of 34 women who did not receive MLD. Measurements of the ...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the results of combined decongestive therapy and manual lymphatic drainage in patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema. METHODS AND MATERIALS The data from 250 patients were reviewed. The pre- and posttreatment volumetric measurements were compared, and the correlation with age, body mass index, and type of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy was determined. Th...
